The high quality production of the EM Forster classic of the same name. Shot in the 1920's with a score by that fantastic vocalist of the first quarter of the last century, BILLY MURRAY.Inpired. This one is truly excellent, and has become a cult classic for even folks who aren't gay. vintage stag, silent film, 1920s, adult, King Waylon. A mid80s movie that was the break out role of a young Daniel Day Lewis. He was very brave in playing a gay character at a time when it was still a felony, and you could go to prison for it. The star of this movie was the Cary Grant and Brad Pitt of his time in England. (This one is very old indeed, and they never even use the word homosexual, but that is the scandal affecting the retired military man.) Several really great movies from the past: I feel like I've failed as a gay for not mentioning that film. it's got a score over 7 on IMDB, which kind of automatically sells me on any gay film tbh as it's such a rarity.Įdit: Oh shit, Moonlight. Oh, and I'm about to watch a film called Hidden Kisses. The city's plethora of little arts cinemas screen unrivalled programmes of classic and contemporary films, and you can find mainstream movies at almost any. The Way He Looks - Possibly my favourite gay film? The main character is blind, and it's about the arrival of this new boy at school, Gabriel. Clark, Marcel Sabourin, Aubert Pallascio, Jason Cadieux. It's a coming of age story, shot and acted really well given the budget of the movie, and I really enjoyed it. When a bishop comes to a prison to hear the confession of an old friend he is forced to watch a play, performed by the inmates, about their youth together, love and betrayal. Beautiful Thing - Pretty old, very British, very cheesy, but kind of a classic for a lot of people, and it's funny too.īoys (Jongens) - Available on Netflix, and it was produced in the Netherlands so expect subtitles.
